This 1966 mostly original Classic Ford Bronco just came in on consignment from the 2nd owner who lives near Torrance CA.

It was re-painted Brown a while back. It has a rebuilt 302 V-8 engine. The engine is healthy, it has long tube headers, a 4 barrel Holly carburetor which has been rebuilt and runs great, plus an RV cam and a dual exhaust system correctly routed out behind the rear tires. It runs well and needs nothing mechanically. The fuel tank is a 23 gallon NMP fuel tank, with a newer filler hose and newer vent lines.

This Bronco has a 4 speed manual transmission, and this 4 speed works well and it very tight. You can cruise the freeways comfortably at 65MPH no problem with the current set up. The Dana 20 transfer case has been re-sealed, and works as it should.

The body is 100% rust free after we recently replaced and match-painted the hood, the windshield frame, one of the inner fender aprons, and graphed in new sheet metal in back to make the rear fenders un-cut again. There is no rust at all in the floor pans, the door pillars, the tailgate or the rocker panels.

This is a 100% rust free California Bronco. This Bronco would make a perfect platform for a back-to-original restoration or a cut and flared EB restoration, or just keep the Brown paint that's on it now and drive it just as it is with the vintage patina. The paint will clean up nicely once it's polished.

It currently has manual steering, manual drum brakes, and 4.11 gearing, with a Ford 9" in back and a Dana 30 front axle. The driveline is in good shape. There is older carpet with newer black high back bucket seats in front, with a matching factory rear seat in the same black vinyl material. The window glass is very clean all around, the doors are very clean, the hinges could use rebuilding but work good now, and all of the gaps are correct.

The door pushes are easy to open, and they close with a "thud" like they should. There is a clean hard top that comes with this Bronco that is in good shape, but we are not going to install it until someone buys the Bronco and we know what other work is going to be done.

We just installed a set of 15x6" factory powder coated wheels with a set of nice 235/75R15 tires, plus we added a set of 1966 (very rare) hub caps which we had been saving for a long time, knowing eventually we'd come across a 1966 that would need them to get back to original.

After market factory bumpers are currently only made for the '67-'77 year models, 1966 is the only year the factory made a slightly different shaped bumper for these 1966 year model Broncos. The rear bumper is not a factory '66, but the front bumper is a '66 bumper, another rare item that is very tough to find these days. If you were looking to restore back-to-original, this would be the bumper you would want.
