This 1966 Ford Bronco is being restored by Rocky Roads, and should be completed by the end of 2018. This Bronco is being restored for a local client in Manhattan Beach CA, it is not for sale. We are posting it in the for sale section as well as the restorations sections to bring it attention to the build, as well as to show what we are building these days for our customers.

After a complete and thorough tear down, the chassis was sent off to be sand blasted. After it came back, it was was fitted with our most recently offering, a 12" coil-over suspension system which will make 12" of wheel travel in front, with 10" of travel in back. The rear suspension prototyping was done in hopes of making this a new model.

On this build, we combined our own unique Legend coil towers with custom King 12" coil-over shocks and Eibach coil springs in front. We will be installing new 8" King reservoir shocks and 11 leaf springs in back, plus all new bump stops in front and in back. There should be no need for a rear sway bar, but we may decide to install one in front if we feel it is needed for optimal handling.

This Bronco is 100% rust free. The body was carefully prepped over a 6 week period, during that time, a new RR Cowl Induction fiberglass hood with hood struts, and new sheet metal including a new tailgate and a new hood were added.

We had it painted in a MBZ Matte Gray finish at the request of the client, then took it to get a new black Linex interior bed liner and Linex under coating. It will soon receive new match painted fender flares in front and in back to accommodate larger tires and wheels that will be discussed later. The firewall has been modified to have maximum clearance for the new Coyote engine, the engine bay will be match painted and the firewall will be Linex'ed. It will receive all new grade 8 and stainless steel hardware throughout the build.

This will be our second Bronco to receive a brand new Coyote 435HP engine, and the first to get a 6 speed automatic transmission, backed up with an Atlas 2 3.0 ratio two speed shift on the fly transfer case. New drive shafts and custom stainless steel headers will be built, and the exhaust system will be routed out behind the rear tires. It will receive a new 23 gallon fuel tank, with a new filler hose and newer vent lines. Every brake line and fuel line will be new.

The front axle was recently replaced with a rebuilt Dana 44 in front. We sent out the Ford 9" rear axle out for sand blasting, then powder coating. This Bronco now has 4.56 gears with a soft locker in back, plus a posi-traction unit front end. Both will receive new hardened axles, new bearings, seals etc. We will be installing new Wilwood 4 piston caliper disc brakes in front and in back, along with a Hydro-boost hydraulic fluid braking system.

The interior will be getting new Legend high back back bucket seating with tracks to move forward and backwards, while the rear seat will be a factory rear seat recovered in our pleated vinyl upholstery. It will be getting RR pleated vinyl door, rear side and tailgate paneling, plus new snap-in carpet mats to protect the floors and make it easier to clean.

The Tuffy locking center console will house a new Alpine head unit that is bluetooth, with a speakerphone system that syncs to cell phones. There will be 4 speakers in the rear side panels, and 4 more in the front kick panels, powered by a 5 channel Alpine amplifier with all new wiring inside of a professionally build wire loom. It will also be getting a new RR woofer console with a 12" Alpine sub woofer inside (mounted with our raiser brackets underneath the rear seat) plus a new Centek wire harness, with Baja Designs 20" stealth light bar in front, 2 back up lights in back for reverse lighting, plus an interior LED light and LED lights throughout.

The owner has chosen to go with a Legend 6 point roll cage, powder coated black, with retractable front and rear seat belts, plus Legend front bumper with push bar. In back, it will get a new Rock Solid rear bumper, powder coated black, with reverse lighting flush mounted in the bumper, and a swing out tire carrier and matching spare.

The dash will be a custom Legend dash with new head light switch, new wiper switch, a new Dakota Digital speedometer that is blue lit, with 2 round air conditioning vents in-dash, plus 2 rectangular vents on the sides of the dash, plus a new Vintage Air system which we put together ourselves. Our system performs better than most after market systems we have installed. The glove box will be a Tuffy locking style glove box.

The rims are Fuel 17x9" aluminum mags powder coated black, with 305/65R17 BFG All Terrain tires, with a matching spare rim and tire. More information coming soon!
