This 1974 Ford Bronco custom build is an excellent example of a reliable, comfortable Bronco suitable for street, daily-driving and mild trail use. This Bronco has been in the current owner's family for over 40 years. When the owner took over this project from his father, the paint and body work had already been done, however it still needed final assembly, mechanical work and some fabrication. That has all been done since. (Please excuse the screen photos, we are working on getting some better pics this week).

The owner started out with a nearly-intact Bronco and several boxes of parts. He had help removing the top, stripping the interior and shooting it with spray-in liner. Next came a set of PRP bucket seats and a few interior goodies such as a new steering wheel and Nick's Trix column bezel.

This Bronco has a customized Bill Stroppe roll bar complete with entry handles and dash bar with grab handles. The roll cage fabricators matched the signature center bend in the Stroppe roll bar for the forward spreader. Then, the roll cage was sent to powdercoat for a beautiful "Silver Bullet" metallic finish. The doors and rear liftgate were overhauled and adjusted for smooth operation, the hard top comes with with all new weatherstripping.

Under the hood, the tired old 302 engine was replaced by a remanufactured 302. with Motorsport valve covers, electronic ignition, plus all top-of-the-line engine parts surrounding the engine. During the R&R process, an engine compartment detail job was done. The re-manufactured engine was installed with a new Edelbrock 4V carb, K&N filter, Ford Motorsport valve covers, a Saginaw steering pump with WCB brackets and a new starter, plug wires and looms. The original factory Bronco wire harness was cleaned up and re-used.

The charging system was upgraded with all new battery cables, starter solenoid and battery hold-down. The Bronco was re-plumbed, all the hard lines for fuel, brakes and transmission fluid were replaced. The new exhaust system consists of a set of Scott Drake long-tube headers and 2-into-1 Flowmaster exhaust. A new set of gas-charged hood springs makes it easy to work under the hood. All of the front end bushings and transfer case mounts were also replaced, and a 2.5" suspension lift was installed.

Finally, the exterior was finished off with some new marker and taillight lenses, new "Bronco" script emblems and a set of "Super Trail Breaker" tubular bumpers from Cheyenne Bumper. This is now a reliable daily driver.

*We just removed the old 33" BFG tires (which were cracked and could not take air) and the old 15x8" steel wheels. We installed a new set of 17x9" black Fuel wheels with brand new 305/65R17 BFG All Terrain tires.That alone made it drive and track a ton better.

It just had a complete inside/outside and under-side pressure wash done, now e're beginning to address all of the minor issues. The issues we're going to resolve before we sell it are: A small leak on rear axle (at the pinion), left rear wheel cylinder (we're going to replace the entire rear brake system), transfer case leak, transmission pan leak, engine dipstick tube and oil pan leaks, plus the steering gear box needs to come out and get rebuilt, then re-installed. Work we're also currently doing:

Replacing existing front bucket seats w/ new black Legend high-back reclining bucket seats in front, a restored matching stock rear seat or folding rear seat with head rests in back, plus new snap-in carpet mats in front, behind front seats and behind rear seat.

This would be a great Bronco to take to the next level. Below are some of what we would like to see happen on this Bronco, or carve out your own path and do whatever you want with it after you purchase it. We are moving forward with some of the below work as we speak, so the price will be going up as we complete the below upgrades.
