1972 Bill Stroppe Baja Bronco “Tribute”

Classic Ford Bronco For Sale – Details

Ford Cobra Fuel Injected 302 engine and AOD four-speed automatic transmission built by Art Carr) Rebuilt Dana 20 transfer case with billet t-case dress-up kit, all new gaskets and seals, plus new drive shafts.

If Bill Stroppe were still alive and doing his thing (in 2023) this is what we believe he would want his Modern Suspension and drive train 1971-1975 Baja Broncos to look and ride like. We believe old Willy would build this for his distinctive clientele today.

The original Baja Broncos were among the most versatile and hard-to-get Broncos. Only 650 Baja Broncos were produced. Ford advertised them as “able to conquer the Baja,” which Parnelli Jones and Bill Stroppe did in the early 1970s, winning the Baja 500 and the Baja 1000 in a stock Baja Bronco.

Using modern suspension advancements, including four-linked suspension & coil over shocks, plus anti-sway bars, this Baja Bronco will ride smoothly over any terrain, either on and off-road. It will have 10 inches of wheel travel in the front and 12 inches of wheel travel in the rear. With “new school” 2.5-inch coil-over shocks and Eibach springs, the ride will be among the softest you’ll find in a restored Classic Ford Bronco 🙂 Nobody out there is building a super soft coil over 4-Link Bronco kit that works as good as it looks (besides Kincer Chassis, who is out between six months and two years on deliveries right now…). We have a proven coil-over 4-link with sway bars suspension system (not our old Legend system; something new) that we are putting on this Bronco.

When Bill Stroppe was building Baja Broncos in the ‘70’s, a person would buy the donor Bronco from their local dealer; then it would be sent to the Bill Stroppe facility in Long Beach, CA to be turned into a “Baja Bronco”. Only 650 were built between 1971 and 1975, making the Baja Bronco one of the most sought-after Ford Broncos ever.

This Baja Bronco Tribute is 100% rust free. It will have a 2.5 inch to 3 inch ride height, 15 x 10” Smoothie deep dish Wimbledon, white wheels, with 32-inch all-terrain tires. It already has rebuilt 4 turn (14-1 ratio) factory power steering and new hydro-boost hydraulic power, brake, booster, plus front disc brakes in the rebuilt Dana 44. The rear end is a Ford 9-inch with 4.56 gearing.

This Bronco is getting a new Parchment stock interior, a new interior bed-liner, plus a black matte floor. It will have the original Baja Bronco paint scheme, new chrome front bumper with Bill Stroppe Baja Bronco push bar, a stock chrome rear bumper, a new Alpine / Focal sound system with four K2 Power Coaxial speakers in back, a set of two K2 powered 6.5-inch Component speakers in front (mounted inside of a pair of custom-built, speaker enclosures) with five channel Focal amplifier and a 10 inch K2 Power woofer enclosure under the restored factory rear seat.

It will come with a beautifully restored white hardtop with a blue lid (in the Bill Stroppe Baja Bronco paint scheme) and a new black carbon fiber hood with orange paint on the surrounding body.
