1972 Ford Bronco Sport

Bronco Details

This 1972 Rust-Free Old School California Ford Bronco recently sold for $175K to a New York customer (in Windsor) who has owned 2 of our RRB restorations over the last 8 years. This Bronco had a body off / frame-off restoration. It got a Limerock Green GM 2 stage paint job. We restored this Bronco to a very high level, mixing some modern amenities with old school styling. We just finished installing a new Vintage Distressed Leather interior, the interior is now all brand new. This Bronco has a Rocky Roads Legend 6 point family roll cage with black roll cage padding and wrapping. We match painted the body to the engine bay & powder coated the chassis, plus we undercoated the entire undercarriage to add maximum rust-prevention.

It has a L&R engines 5.8 liter fuel injected Crate 351 Windsor engine with est. 400 HP and 400 lbs of torque. This Bronco feels more like a Vintage Pantera than it does a Bronco! This Windsor engine makes this Bronco super fun to drive. We added a set of March billet aluminum pulleys, a new serpentine belt system, plus polished power steering, alternator & a/c pumps. It has Fi Tech fuel injection, MSD ignition & distributor. Everything around the engine has been replaced with new parts. All brackets and timing cover have been powder coated. It has new Ford Racing valve covers, an upgraded radiator, a completely new cooling system with dual electric fans plus a standard 7 blade Bronco fan with a metal fan shroud. It has a new 23-gallon F.I. fuel system, plus a new Flowmaster dual exhaust system that sounds fantastic and is correctly routed out behind the rear tires. It has a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive plus a new all aluminum shift-on-the-fly 3.8 ratio Atlas 2 transfer case with new custom length drive shafts, with 3.54 highway gearing.

It has a Dana 44 in front, with a Ford 9″ rear axle, have both been rebuilt & repainted. Combined with a new Hydro-boost power brake system, this Bronco stops, steers and handles great!

It has a rebuilt factory 4 turn factory power steering system, a new black tilt steering column with a Le Carra steering wheel, plus a new stainless steering steering shaft. It has a new front disc brake system & rebuilt drum brakes in back. This Bronco has a new Centek body harness & a new Painless fuel injection harness, plus a custom restored white faced Bronco speedometer (with the miles re-set back to zero at the end of the restoration). It now has 3960 miles on the frame-off restoration, 1000 of those miles were testing miles we put on the Bronco prior to delivering it to the current owner in Texas. The Bronco is now back in California and it’s ready for daily driving.

It has a brand new 2.5″ suspension with 6 silver Bilstein performance shock absorbers, plus a 1″ body lift. The radius arm bushings and 7 degree C bushings are new, as are the steering tie rods, drag link and the adjustable track bar. It has 305/65R17 BFG All-Terrain tires on 17×9 inch Fuel Hostage black powder-coated wheels with new lug nuts.

It has a new Rocky Roads Legend Hybrid front bumper with push bar that has been powder-coated black with a new electric remote controlled (or plug in) winch with an aluminum fair lead, plus a new nylon cord. It has a new black powder coated Rock Solid rear bumper with a swing-out tire carrier and a matching spare. It also has new 1/4 inch steel heavy-duty rocker panel covers that have been powder-coated black.

We installed new FORD raised lettering on the grill, new amber running lenses, billet aluminum headlamp rings, taillight bezels & side marker light bezels, plus LED head lights. It also has newer windshield frame braces to help prevent rattles, a set of custom-fitted snap-in floor mats, plus a Tuffy locking center console and a locking glove box, both match-keyed. It has a new black STC soft top with removable windows. It has a new RR Legend dash with Dakota Digital climate control, 3 aluminum A/C vents in-dash.

We installed all new match painted fender flares, new lower door seals, new windshield glass and seal, plus a new black Polyurea (Linex) interior bed liner. We installed all new window felts and channels plus new door inner and outer handles. It also has a newer Alpine sound system with 6.5″ component speakers in the rear side panels with Alpine 5.25″ component speakers (also flush mounted into the rear side panels), plus a Rocky Roads 12 inch sub-woofer console (mounted behind the new folding rear seat with headrests, with a 1000 Watt JL Audio amplifier. This is one Classic Bronco that can be enjoyed for many years to come!  Comparatively, Broncos at this level cost $195K to $215K at most of our competitor’s shops.
